Assessment of Exceeded Frequency and Load for Tributary River in Gomakwoncheon Watershed by Using Load Duration Curve

Abstract
The object of in this study was conducted the assessment of excceded load, and correlation between excceded load and landuse type load by applying the load duration curve. The load duration curve for each monitoring points was calculated by using the data of three years (2013-2015) measured at intervals of 8 days from four sites (MP-1, 2, 3 and 4) in the Gomakwoncheon. Exceeded loads of BOD and T-P at the three sites (MP-1, 2 and 3) were not significantly larger than the target water quality load, but exceeded load of BOD and TOC at MP-4 site were increased rapidly 1,968.1 kg day-1, 44,779 kg day-1, respectively. As a result of analyzing the correlation between landuse and exceeded load, the paddy and upland area were positively correlated with exceeded load. The forest area were negative correlation with exceeded load. For the reason, the organic matter in the paddy and upland are increased by compost and chemical fertilizer use according to the farming activities in agricultural area. Therefore, we will be required the further study in order to correlation analysis between the characteristics of the watershed (cultivation and growing season, fertilizer application period, fertilizer application rate, soil physicochemical characteristics, etc.) and exceeded load.
