Electrochemical Treatment of Water Soluble Cutting Oil using Electrode Material

Abstract
In this study, the current efficiency and the electrolytic sludge characteristics due to the electrooxidation and electrocoagulation according to the electrode materials in the electrochemical treatment are insufficient. Therefore, the effect of the SUS316 and the Al on the treatment efficiency, energy consumption and electrolytic sludge characteristics were evaluated. The COD removal efficiency was 58.3% for SUS316 and Al was 78.9%. The removal efficiency is analyzed of Al was higher than SUS316. As a result of EDX, the electrolytic sludge composition of SUS316 is composed of Fe-O-C-H composite, and the composition of electrolytic sludge in Al is composed of Al-O-OH complex. Energy efficiency is 874 mgCOD/Whr for SUS316and 1,275 mgCOD/Whr for Al that Al is high in energy efficiency.
