Abstract
In this study, the physical characteristics for the material(felt, tube, UV impregnation resins, CIPP liner) to be used in the UV CIPP technology and its performance was validated to utilize the test bed, the main results are as follows. The felt constituting the tube compared to the non-woven felt since the elongation is very low, in order to attach CIPP liner to close internal surface of the existing pipe, the diameter of CIPP liner is appropriate to be 97 ~ 98% of the inner diameter of the existing pipe. Secondly, the curing time of UV impregnation resins is enough up to 4 mm in thickness of CIPP liner by UV irradiation time 30 sec. If curing is done so within, it is expected to significantly reduce the construction time as compared to the conventional CIPP technique by using steam curing method, and even physical properties also had an similar adhesion level of the epoxy resins used in the spray-on lining. In addition to, there was little significant difference on physical performance for UV CIPP liner between the laboratory test and test-bed. Therefore, the quality after the construction of the CIPP liner in the field is expected to be good.
