Abstract
This study was conducted to activity measurement of activated sludge by substrates type and concentration. Activity measurement methods were used oxygen uptake rate(OUR) and INT-dehydrogenase(INT-DHA). Glucose and acetic acid were used as organic source, and NH4Cl was used as nitrogen source. In the result of experiment, acetic acid activity of heterotroph in activated sludge was higher than glucose activity, which were used at both OUR and INT-DHA. Activity of heterotroph and autotroph could be measured simultaneously when nitrogen source with organic source were injected together. There was a correlation between OUR and INT-DHA, and it was higher using acetic acid than glucose. It was over R2=0.95. When activated sludge was exposed by copper, activity had no correlation with substrates type and concentration. Activity were decreased sharply at 3 mg/L of copper concentration. On the other hand, inhibition of copper showed a lot of difference because of the variable control value. It was depended on the dosage of substrates.
