Abstract
This study was to suggest the most efficient rainwater collection method by analyzing the quality of collected rainwater considering various types of rainwater harvesting facilities and comparing their pollution levels according to the collection methods. Rainwater samples were collected from an existing pre-treatment, a catchment type, and recently developed clean catchment types A and B rainwater harvesting facilities at Changwon City. The average concentration values obtained from the analysis of the four rainwater harvesting facilities showed that 32 out of 46 pollutants in the underground water standards were not detected in the clean catchment type B rainwater harvesting facility and other items such as of NH₄-N(0.21 ㎎/ℓ), NO₃-N(0.3 ㎎/ℓ), hardness (19 ㎎/ℓ), color (2 PCU), Cl^{-}(1 ㎎/ℓ) and turbidity (0.22 NTU) were less than in other rainwater harvesting facilities. In conclusion, clean catchment type B rainwater harvesting facilities were found to be the most efficient rainwater catchment method.
