Title
Characteristics of Sludge Generated from the Total Phosphorus Removal Process of Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant
서정인 Jung In Suh
Abstract
This study was carried out for sewage sludges generated from digestion tank and total phosphorus removal process in 5 municipal wastewater treatment plants in D city to investigate characteristics of dewatered sewage sludges. Aluminum, Fe and total phosphorus(T-P) were dominant component in the chemical sludge generated from total phosphorus removal process(CS) with 15~22%, 1.6~2.3% and 0.17~1.89% in mass. The other principal chemical components were Mn, Cu, Zn and Ni with 0.02~0.96% in mass. And aluminum contents of CS was in the range of 153~219 g/Kg which was 8 times higher than in digested sludge generated from digestion process. Also T-P contents of CS was about 12% of aluminum. These results showed that aluminum ions combined with not only phosphate ions, but also typical anions found in municipal wastewater.
