The Effect of Temperature on the Precipitation Reaction of Copper Ion in Aquatic System

Abstract
The influence of temperature on the variation of the stable region of copper-containing species in aqueous system was investigated based on Eh-pH diagram in relation with the treatment of copper ion in wastewater by a precipitation method. The stability of cupric ion was examined to be decreased with temperature, which was due to the movement of the boundary between cupric ion and CuO (5) to the stable region of cupric ion. The stable region of CuOIS, and Cu20 (5) was found to be increased as temperature rises and the variation ratio of the boundary between Cu (s) and Cu(aq) according to temperature change was affected by the activity of Cu (aq), In addition, the stability of Cu41 was examined to be increased with temperature.
