Abstract |
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of natural and artificial grasslands (forest and golf course) construction and operation on the water system, such as rivers and lakes. The concentrations of organic and nutrient and flow rate from both grassland were measured during rainfall period. As a result, the pick points of runoff from natural and artificial grasslands were reached at about 5 hr and 1 hr of the elasped time. Event mean concentrations (EMCs) were 5.9 mgCOD/L, 2.034 mgT-N/L, and 0.032 mgT-P/L for the natural grassland and 29.5 mgCOD/L, 3.567 mgT-N/L, and 0.052 mgT-P/L for the artificial grassland, respectively. The COD, T-N and T-P loading rates of the natural and the artificial grasslands were 0.097kg/ha.d, 0.061kg/ha.d, and 0.01055kg/ha.d for the natural grassland and 2.617kg/ha.d, 0.418kg/ha.d, and 0.0848 kg/ha.d for the artificial grassland. This results showed that the nutrient loading rates from the natural grassland were lower than that from the artificial grassland. The natural grassland had a closely correlation between rainfall and COD, but the artificial grassland no correlation. |
