The purpose of this study is to synthesize Zeolite-A incorporated with iron contents and also to investigate characteristics and catalytic performances for the synthesized Fe-Zeolite-A. For synthesis of the Fe-Zeolite-A, the synthesis of silica(Na2SiO3) with iron(FeCl3) was performed fundamentally and then the reactions of iron to the mixture of aluminium and silica contents were investigated by varying Fe/Si and Al/Si molar ratios in Si/(Al+Fe) molar ratio of 1, or by adding iron to Si/Al molar ratio of 1. The optimal molar ratio of Fe/Si for the formation of crystalline Fe-zeolite-A was very low, less than 0.5 in Si/(Al+Fe) molar ratio of 1. The Fe-Zeolite-A characteristics can be conforned trrough new peak in the XRD patterns and new frequencies in the FT-IR spectra. and also XPS analysis showed that iron contents were composed into framework in low molar ratios of Fe/Si but were deposited on the surface as Fe2O3 in higher ones. In catalytic tests, the more the Fe-Zeolite-A contains iron content, the lower was ammonium ion-exchange. To the contrary, phenol degradability with hydrogen peroxide was higher and better after washing with 0.1N HCl solution. |
