A Study on Hydrograph Analysis for the Upper Basin of Andong Dam Using Statistical Technique

Abstract
Based on the data of flows and bottom lines of Socheon and Dosan site in upper basin of Andong dam, this study was performed to develop more correct and reliable rating curve equation using optimal solution estimation method(OSEM) and simple regression analysis. Applied data for this study were used the data of 126 and 129 times measured at water level stations of Socheon and Dosan during 2000 to 2004. As a results induced relation equations by OSEM and regression analysis, we could obtained the rating curve equations : Q=29.0781(H-1.4346)^(2.0983) (1.86<H<8.00) for Socheon site and Q=74.5630 (H-0.5620)^(1.9942) (0.69<H7.40) for Dosan site, and the decision coefficients were 0.9604-0.9795 for rating curve equation and 0.9079-0.9231 for the regression equation. In order to verify the confidence of rating curve equation for Socheon and Dosan sites by the OSEM, runoff method, and modelling, the verification results showed the rating curve equation had very highly confidence. Thus, if a several parameter would be implemented the OSEM applied to this study, the rating curve equation derived from the improved OSEM would be resulted in the increase of high confidence in deciding the flow needed for the design of facilities in the basin.
