Title
The Changes of Water Quality by Water Supply Distance
이태관 Tae Gwan Lee
Abstract
This paper presents the integrated technique of Water Quality Analysis and Geographic Information System(GIS) for assessing the water quality variation by supply distance in Sangri Water Supply System. GIS was utilized for extraction of a pipeline route and supply distance, and Water Quality is analyzed every month for appraising the variation of each item such as free chloride, mesophilic bacteria, iron, aluminum, manganese and lead concentration. As a result, free chlorine, mesophilic bacteria and iron concentration are affected both water supply distance and water temperature. However, manganese concentration was affected by water supply distance rather than water temperature and on the contrary, aluminum concentration was more affected by water temperature. Thus it is found that water quality becomes worse as water temperature and supply distance is increased.
