Title
Flow Variation and settling Effects by Installing the Structures in the Sedimentation Basin
최계운Gye Woon Choi
Abstract
In this paper, the flow variations and the settling effects by installation the different structures in the sedimentation basin are examined through several different experiments using the pilot plant. The different velocity distribution by moving the position in the sedimentation basin is indicated through the experiments using the redioactive tracer. Also, it is found the velocity near the surface area is faster compared to the lower parts in the sedimentation basin. Through the experiments related to the baffles types, it is indicated that the sedimentation effects of the baffle having the downward contracted holes are better compared to the baffles having the different types of opening holes. At the same time, it is indicated that the central baffle wall having the unevenly distributed opening holes on the baffle wall indicates the less dead zone compared the central baffle wall having the uniformly distributed opening holes and the others. The settling effect of the floe by changing the position of the baffle in the sedimentation basin indicates the big difference with the advantage in installing the baffle in the front part in the sediemntation basin.
