The Effect of Mixing Time on the Coagulation of Microcystis Aeruginosa

Abstract
In this study, optimum mixing time and mixing velocity for the coagulation were investigated when the water treatment system has algae during the eutrophication. Water treatment systems are suffered by algae during the summer. For this problem, advanced treatment was adopted. However, low efficiency of coagulation in C Water Treatment System can be caused by low efficiency of advanced treatment. The optimum mixing time for the coagulation was rapid mix 2 minutes, slow mix 15 minutes and settlement 30 minutes. The optimum mixing velocity for the coagulation was rapid mix 180 rpm, low mix 50 rpm. As a result, the optimum mixing time and rpm are following rapid mix 2 minutes in 180 rpm, low mix 15 minutes in 50 rpm and settlement 30 minutes.
