Title
Enhanceded Nutrient Removal in a Combined Aerobic - Anoxic / Anaerobic - Settling Reactor
김광수Kwang Soo Kim
Abstract
A pilot plant investigation was carried out to develop a combined aerobic-anoxic/anaerobic-settling reactor which contained an aeration chamber, an anoxic/anaerobic chamber and a clarifies. The pilot plant had a capacity of 10㎥/day and was made of FRP. Two circular columns were vertically set in the middle of the circular reactor. Only a driving force of rising air bubbles recycled the sludge in the aeration chamber. The height of the sludge blanket in the clarifies was increased when MLSS increased and HRT was reduced in the aeration basin. To prevent the overflow of the sludge blanket, the optimal operating condition of the clarifies should be maintained above 0.5hrs when MLSS was in the range of 2,000∼4,000㎎/L in the aeration basin. In this combined reactor, nitrogen and phosphorus were removed in the anoxic/anaerobic-oxic process. Among various operating modes, the simultaneous removal of nitrogen and phosphorus was enabled to proceed when the influent sewage was used as a carbon source in the anoxic/anaerobic process. To maintain the effluent TKN contration below 3㎎/ℓ, the allowable maxim TKN loading rate in the aeration chamber was found to be 0.05㎏TKN/㎏MLSS.d. To keep the effluent T-P contration below 1㎎/ℓ, T-P loading to aeration chamber should be less than 0.006㎏T-P/㎏MLSS.d
