Title
Evaluation of Various Coagulants for Enhanced Coagulation
김승현Seung Hyun Kim
Abstract
This study showed that TOC-alkalinity matrix was a proper criterion for evaluating enhance coagulation. As initial TOC value increased, more TOC was removed. It was possible to achieve seeming different goals of turbidity and organic removal. Although the optimum region of organic removal was more acidic than that of turbidity removal, they were generally overlapped. Coagulant demand was generally decided by organic removal rather than turbidity removal. There was a case in which coagulant demand was decided by turbidity removal rather than organic removal. Proper coagulant was different with raw water. Fe was more effective than Al-based coagulants for a certain waters("A" and "B" waters), while Al-based coagulants were more effective than Fe for another water ("C" WATER). This suggested that proper coagulant was decided by experiments.
