Abstract
To recycle the water in the aquaculture system, a wastewater treatment process is required to maintain high water quality for the growth and health of the cultured fish. In this study, two phase fluidized bed reactor was used for removing organic matters and ammonia from the recirculating water. According to the experimental results of the two phase fluidized bed, the withdrawal of wastesludge from the reactor bed during operation was required. In addition, in two phase fluidized bed, the maximum removal efficiency was obtained when both the packing rate of media was maintained as 40% of total reactor depth except sediment zone and the bed expansion rate was maintained as 100%. When the loading rates were 0.085∼3.165 ㎏ COD/㎥/day and 0.044-1.816 ㎏ NH₄^+-N/㎥/day. SCOD and ammonia removal efficiencies were 77.3∼95.1% and 66.7∼98.0%, respectively. The maximum removal rate of ammonia was 1,569.6 ㎎/L/day.
