Title
Articles / Full - Scale and Pilot-Scale Experience with the VIP Process
김동진Dong Jin kim,Gregory Jones,Glen Daigger
Abstract
Results from two full-scale plants and two large pilot plants utilizing the VIP process are presented. VIP is a high-rate biological phosphorus and nitrogen removal process. The results indicate that biological phosphorus and nitogen removal can be achieved using relatively short biological reator hydraulic residence times. Superior phosphorus removal was demonstrated for the VIP process relative to other: similarly sized biological nutrient removal processes when operated in a nitrifying mode. The results also suggest that wastewater characteristics, particularly the septicity of the wastewater, will affect process performance.
