Abstract
Wastewater emissions are increasing by economic growth and development of the industry, and it is the main cause of water pollution. Dyeing wastewater discharge accounts for 8% of industrial wastewater emissions, and since it contains hardly decomposable substances, advanced treatment is necessary. Thus, dyeing wastewater was treated by an electrochemical method(Electro-coagulation) using aluminum as anode and stainless steel 316 as cathode of experiments were carried out in a batch type. Operation parameters, such as current density (20, 40, 60 A/m2), effect of electrolyte (NaCl, Na2SO4) were investigated for their influences on T-N removal efficiencies. Under the condition without electrolyte, when the current density was adjusted to 20 A/m2, 40 A/m2 and 60 A/m2, removal efficiency of T-N was 38.4%, 53.1% and 66.2% at 60min. In comparison with condition of adding NaCl and non-addition, the removal efficiency of adding NaCl was higher 20% on average than non-addition of all current density. In comparison with condition of adding Na2SO4 and non-addition, the removal efficiency of adding Na2SO4 was higher 10% or less on average than non-addition of all current density.
